I am proud to announced that Simopsis 3.0 is coming along very well. Blake, Frex and I have been developing and tweaking it for the past few weeks, and continue to work on it. We're really happy to see how it has come along from the beginning, and when we compare the current site to our new design, we will be leaving Simopsis 2.1 in the dust. The following post outlines some of the new features you can expect from Simopsis 3.0.
At the centre of this update is the creation of "one site" - that is every component of the site under one login. With that, I will delve into some features:
-Inegrating the SPEX with the forums. This will be an all-new SPEX.
-Expanded forums. More topics for more discussion.
-Forum Reorganization. With more topics comes a need to shuffle things around so the index doesn't drag on for ever.
-Rank Changes

Due to our host having issues, we cannot secure the hosting we need to launch 3.0 in full force at the moment. As such, we will be upgrading to Simopsis 3.0 in phases. Below outlines the timeline for things to be completed. More information will be posted here.
Much of this work will require downtime - we will post the timeline and amount of time we will be down as required. The biggest downtime will be when we secure the full hosting we require (this downtime could easily last longer than 24 hours).

As you can see, we have a lot of work ahead. Due to the lack of being able to secure hosting immediately, we have divided work so we can get things rolling. Once hosting is secured, the "Work Coming Later" will be done, as these are all things that require our new hosting. That section of the updates will require approximately 24-48 hours. During that time, the site will be replaced with a countdown. For the remainder of work, the site will be offline. These sessions will last up to 5 hours. Updates will be posted on twitter during the downtime.
Please continue following this thread for updates and scheduled downtime. The staff and I appreciate your ongoing activity and hope you are as excited as we are for the new Simopsis. Trust me when I say this will be the best Simopsis yet.
